Postal workers face a risk of injury every day they go to work.
Obtaining Workers’ Compensation Can Be Challenging
Obtaining federal workers’ compensation can be a very difficult process for employees of the U.S. Postal Service, or any other federal agency. Despite the fact that the Department of Labor provides tools and information for employers to help educate their staff on how to access these benefits, it is still hard to get what is owed to them.
All too often their primary concern is seemingly cutting costs rather than helping those who are in need due to injury or illness resulting from their work duties. While cost savings should absolutely not be placed ahead of workers’ well-being, this does not stop this practice from occurring within government entities.
