About Robert (“Rob”) Marionneaux Jr
Rob joined Laborde Earles Injury Lawyers as an attorney in 2023, adding his extensive experience as a trial attorney to the strength of the LE team.
Rob’s dedication has resulted in numerous civil jury trials, yielding remarkable verdicts totaling over half a billion dollars. These include numerous mega-million dollar verdicts and settlements, such as the below:
- $20,616,944 Jury Verdict (2021): Rob achieved a substantial jury verdict of $20,616,944.00 in an 18-wheeler accident case that took place in Pointe Coupee Parish. Tragically, the plaintiff lost their life when an 18-wheeler collided with them while attempting a U-turn in the path of oncoming traffic. The court awarded past medical expenses, funeral expenses, survival damages, and wrongful death damages to the plaintiff and their seven children.
- $14,856,491 Jury Verdict (2022): In a products liability case in Avoyelles Parish, Rob obtained a jury verdict of $14,856,491.30. The lawsuit involved John Deere & Company being held 100% at fault under the Louisiana Products Liability Act for a defective design and failure to warn on a John Deere 4640 tractor that severely injured two individuals after running them over.
- $14,660,000 Jury Verdict (2020): In Avoyelles Parish, Rob secured a jury verdict of $14,660,000.00 in a products liability lawsuit. The case involved a three-year-old plaintiff who suffered salmonella food poisoning after consuming undercooked chicken nuggets at a Burger King in Marksville, Louisiana, resulting in long-lasting gastrointestinal issues, post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, reactive arthritis, and anxiety.
- $7,000,000 Settlement: Rob negotiated a $7 million settlement in a personal injury case in West Baton Rouge Parish. The incident occurred when a critical part of an inversion table at a fitness franchise broke, causing the plaintiff to fall and suffer a fractured neck, resulting in paraplegia and permanent disability.
Throughout his extensive career spanning over two decades, Rob Marionneaux has established himself as one of Louisiana’s leading trial attorneys. His track record of successes has earned him memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates, esteemed organizations that recognize his ability to achieve million and multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients. Rob has presented compelling arguments before the five Courts of Appeal throughout Louisiana and appeared before the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has successfully represented his client before the United States Supreme Court. Additionally, he is a member of the American Association of Justice, the Louisiana Association for Justice, La. Criminal Defense Lawyers, and other reputable organizations. He served in the Louisiana Legislature, both in the House of Representatives and the Louisiana Senate for sixteen (16) years, until he was term limited, when he returned full time to the practice of law.
Rob’s expertise and desire to share his knowledge led him to be the guest speaker for various continuing legal education programs. Two of his presentations were titled, “Am I prepared to handle an 18 Wheeler Case?” and “Handling a Traumatic Brain Injury Case”.
In recognition of his contributions to the field of law, Rob Marionneaux was honored with induction into the Southern University Law Center’s Hall of Fame in 2006. This recognition holds particular significance to him, as he is a graduate of the Southern University Law Center.
Outside of his legal endeavors, Rob cherishes his role as a father to his son, Robert. He finds enjoyment in activities such as flying, golfing, hunting, fishing, snow skiing, riding motorcycles, and managing his cattle farm in Grosse Tete, Louisiana.
