The 2024 program ended on June 15, 2024 and a recipient has been awarded. We are not accepting any applications this year. However, we encourage you to check back regularly for future scholarships.

Our legal team was proud to sponsor the scholarship as a way of supporting young scholars. We believe investing in those pursuing their education is one of the best ways to invest in the future.

The Cancer Scholarship amount was $2,500 and the deadline to apply was June 15, 2024.

Eligibility

The Cancer Scholarship is open to all college applicants planning to study medicine, public health, toxicology, or another related field. Eligibility guidelines include:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Being admitted to or currently attending a college or university, or graduate school
  • Submitting an essay according to the application requirements
  • Using the form on the page to apply
  • Applicant agreeing to terms and conditions

The scholarship award goes to the best submission that meets all required guidelines. The award of $2,500 must be used for college-related expenses such as tuition and books.

Application Guidelines

Many people use products that may contain cancer-causing ingredients. We should not be exposed to carcinogens every day and as a result at risk for developing cancer.

Applicants are to write a policy brief to their Congressperson or local politician detailing the gaps in the current policy and why increased regulations will be good for public health.

The length for the submission is 1,000 words. Applicants must submit their essays in PDF format along with their application.

For your policy brief to be eligible please include the following:

  • A header where you mention your full name; the name of the scholarship; the name of the institution you are enrolled in; the mailing address from your financial aid office where we can mail the award; the e-mail address and phone number from your financial aid office; the student ID number.
  • A catchy and original title.
  • A bibliography where you mention all the sources of information used (eg: books, sites; articles, magazines, reports, etc.)
  • Citations

Once done, students are advised to save their essays in PDF format and upload them when they submit the application form on this page.

How to Apply

Applicants must apply using the application form on the page. The deadline for applications was June 15, 2024.
Those applying for the scholarship are encouraged to carefully review all guidelines and application requirements before submitting their final application.
