Attorney Profile – Mary Cryar
I decided to be a lawyer about the age of seven, and I never considered another career. I really never knew what kind of lawyer I would be, but I naturally went into the corporate practice and business practice, which is what I did for 20 years. And now, I have switched sides to the plaintiff PI side.
Switching from the defense side, I was concerned how it would be, but I have found that the best part of this practice is helping people. My personal PI clients,they’re hurt. And their first concern is getting the treatment that they need, making sure that they physically get better. Some of them need help going back to work, some of them just need somebody to talk to.
We are more than just lawyers—we are more to our individual clients than just their attorneys. What we do on a daily basis for our clients affects their very lives—whether they can pay their bills, whether they can get out of bed in the morning. For me, that’s rewarding to help them. My job is to do what I can to make my clients as back to normal as they possibly can be. And so, what I ask them is, “Where are you, where do you want to be, and what can I do to get you there?”
