Road Rage May Have Lead to Car Crash that Killed Pregnant Woman

honking a horn

When people get angry on the road, they can do unpredictable and dangerous things. Police say that road rage may have been a factor in a crash that killed a pregnant woman and her unborn child. WDSU reports.

A New Orleans woman was driving through the town of Kenner on West Esplanade Avenue near Lake Trail. Another car was traveling with her. For reasons unknown just yet, the car the woman was driving went off the roadway and hit a power pole. Both the mother and the child were killed on impact.

The car behind them also lost control and struck another power pole, causing it to topple over. They were treated at the scene. No arrest was made of the second driver, but police are considering criminal charges for their actions in the case. No other information has been released about the second driver.

Never let your emotions take control when you’re behind the wheel. If someone cuts you off or acts unsafe, it’s better to keep your distance and let them have their way. You’ll avoid a fight and you won’t lose that much time. If another driver keeps threatening you while you’re on the road, call the police and report it if you can do so safely.

Similarly, keep other drivers happy by following the rules of the road. If you drive in a predictable way, we can all feel safe on the roads.
